Sapa Ashoona

Sapa Ashoona's father is Adamie Curley and his mother is Kudloo Ashoona. His grandmother, Mayoreak Ashoona, and his uncle, Kiawak Ashoona, are celebrated Inuit carvers. Sappa was greatly influenced by the art of his grandfather, Kaka Ashoona. One of Sappa’s favourite subjects is the mighty polar bear, and many of his pieces contain exaggerated elements, such as elongated necks and legs.
