“In my painting, I enjoy exploring how colour and light can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. I am especially fascinated by the contrasts of light and shadow and the play of light on shapes and surfaces. Faces and people captivate me—how they connect with others and their environment, and how their personality and character emerge through posture and body language. I aim to capture the essence of a subject with expressive brush strokes and the dynamic interplay of shape, colour and light.”
