Janet Crawford

"Working in glass mosaics has taught me patience and perserverance'.  Janet Crawford has been exploring mosaic techniques for over ten years.  Always ready to discover a new approach or a new material, she finds inspiration in the natural world around us and the skies above us.  Always aiming to present a light touch to this inflexible material, she is still fascinated by the glass, the light and the movement of mosaics.

A native of Sackville, NB, Janet studied art at Fanshawe College - majoring in film production.  She established Fog Forest Gallery in 1984 and has enjoyed a fulfilling career working with Canadian artists, artisans and collectors for almost 40 years. She was commissioned to create a public art sculpture for the Town of Sackville in 2022.

Janet's work as a singer/songwriter has co-produced three full length CD projects.  She frequently collaborates with her good friend and mentor, Ray Legere.  The latest CD project was released in December 2022.  For over 10 years Janet was featured as a vocalist with the Elastic Big Band in Nova Scotia.  “Having the good fortune of singing with a full jazz band has been so much fun.   I loved it !! ”
