Birds, Fish and Other Rare Sightings.  Art by Bev Clark

October 19, 2023 – November 10, 2023

Bev Clark worked for over 35 years as an aquatic scientist.  He has always had a strong desire to make objects of art - to take ‘stuff’ and turn it into something else.  “I began painting at an early age but I have only recently had the time to show my artwork in a gallery or to have pieces available for sale.  Due to having spent most of my life working in aquatic science you might notice a bit of water in many of my paintings.  Much is the same with my carvings.”

Bev began carving many years ago by carving decoys for hunting and moved on to more whimsical carvings when the frenzy around wooden ducks died down.  Bev is a self-taught painter but a keen art history buff.  “So -- who knows what inspires me or teaches me in a sneeky way.”

“To me there needs to be something going on in a piece of art.  It must ask or tell .... something.  It is not enough for it to just sit there and look pretty!”

This exhibition opens with an informal Artist's Reception on Friday, October 20 from 5 - 7 pm  Everyone is invited.  Please drop in.  Meet Bev and enjoy the exhibition.  This exhibit continues until November 10, 2023.
