Camellia started to show a great passion for art at a very young age. She picked up her brushes once again during COVID and hasn’t laid them down ever since.
Born and raised in China, now living in McAdam, New Brunswick, Canada, she carries her curiosity about the similarities and differences between Eastern and Western aesthetics. Working as a volunteer at Sunbury Shores Art and Nature Gallery in 2022 exposed her to a few well-known artists specializing in different styles. Encouraged and guided by Bev Clark, a mature local Canadian artist and having several watercolour pieces sold at Sunbury Shores encouraged her to explorer further in the world of art. She has been trying to merge the features of the two cultures in her paintings.
Her understanding of life and love towards nature are represented by the verified lines and dull colours. Her way of memorializing the lost past is to use the hand-made thin papers produced in traditional ways. She is interested in conveying a peaceful and contemplative feeling in the characters of her paintings.
