Anne is delighted to be returning to Sackville after graduating from the Fine Arts programme at Mount Allison University 35 years ago in 1983. Anne's work will be included in this year's annual exhibition showcasing recent artworks by Mount Allison Alumni, Faculty and Sackville based artists. In conjunction with this exhibit, Anne has been invited to appear at Fog Forest Gallery for a book signing on Saturday, May 12 from 11 am - 1 pm. All are welcome to drop in and view the exhibit and meet Anne.
Anne is the author of three books for Batsford/Pavillion Press (Harper Collins). "Connected Cloth" co-authored with Cas Holmes was published in 2013 with "Textile Nature" published in 2016. Anne's new project entitled, "Textile Folk Art" will be published in August 2018.
"Found textiles are at the heart of Anne's work; driven not by a sense of ecological warriorship or thrift, but by a more emotional and creative drive to save, incorporate and honour these fragile survivors of times past; whether vintage or more recent." Deena Beverley.
Fog Forest is pleased to welcome Anne, who now lives in England, back to Canada and Sackville.
Fog Forest invites NS master stone mason, Heather Lawson, to teach a two day workshop on May 5 & 6 as part of Sackville's “Bordertown” Festival.
