Lynn Wigginton

Statement: Art for a World Gone Mad - September 2016

“Tell me the landscape in which you live, and I will tell you who you are.”
- Jose Ortega y Gasset, Spanish Philosopher

Lynn Wigginton graduated from Mount Allison University’s Fine Art Department in 1974. She has been particularly influenced by the disciplined approach to draughtsmanship exemplified in the drawings and prints of David Silverberg.

She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Maritimes. Her works are found in such collections as: the City of Saint John, the New Brunswick Museum, the New Brunswick Art Bank, McCain’s, Toronto, the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and Saint John, the Atlantic Baptist College in Moncton and Zemon Environmental Systems in Oakville, Ontario.

In 1995, Lynn produced a body of work (47 pen and ink drawings, 23 wash drawings and 54 acrylic paintings) to accompany the text written by Dr. Gregg Finley for a beautiful, award winning book entitled, “On Earth and it is in Heaven- Gothic Revival Churches of Victorian New Brunswick”. This book was published by Goose Lane Press.

Lynn’s richly detailed studies and colourful landscapes have been featured in exhibitions here at Fog Forest Gallery for over ten years.
