Ghita Levin has pursued her love of pottery throughout her life starting in high school in Ottawa and finishing at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Thirty years later and she has met the challenge of 'making a living at one's art' and lives and works in her studio creating pots and sculptures for galleries around the Maritimes.
Ghita's life experiences and environmental concerns influence the design and look of her work. Her work was featured in a solo exhibition in 2003 at the Owens Art Gallery entitled, "Conversing with the Elements" and she was invited into an important group exhibition at the Dalhousie Art Gallery in 1996 entitled, "Clay: Medium Based Practice".
Her work has won numerous awards including the "Best New Product - One of a Kind" award at the Designer Craft Show at the Cunard Centre in Halifax, NS in 2016. Her approach to her work and her involvement in various craft organizations have earned her a solid reputation throughout Eastern Canada.
